Make sure you spritz the hair after it's seperated into the 3 parts and try yo keep it tight. With Molly we never lose the 3 sections. We just rebraid it when it gets little fly-aways. good luck.

I second the misting - I mist the doll's hair for about every hairdo, the hair is much easier to manage this way and the hairdos turn out much nicer. Just make sure, that you don't get water in the eyes, they might rust.

I found the treat-seat to be very helpful when giving hairdos to the dolls. AG also does offer a styling-kit complete with styling-cape, rollers and hairbrush and a little misting bottle. I've seen pictures, showing the hairsalon-crew at AGP using exactly this set. If you use one of the treat-seats, you have both hands free for the doll and don't need to balance her.

AG also offers a book and a DVD with all kinds of doll hairdos. We have the book and love it, don't know about the DVD.

Just keep practicing, you'll get it. If it doesn't look good, take it out and try again!

Does Cabbage Patch still make the hairstyling doll with the thick, maliable hair? That's where I learned to do nice braids before I ever got an AG doll. I'm sure Kirsten is thankful.

I have been having problems with Jess's hair getting lots of fly aways I almost completely soak her hair with the spritz bottle before braiding. Then when I get the fly aways I just look at her and think that she is like any other 10 year old who's is busy running around and exploring in a tropical environment.

I agree with you her braids a pain. I tryed doing it and could not do it. Then finally my mother got it and did because I was getting frustrated the hanginging pieces of hair.
